The Death of Cinema
Documentary | 2003 | 10' | 4:3

Álvaro Dias, a car mechanic, (re)constructed two cinema projectors and invented for them an optical system of reading sound. Through one of his "precision machines", he discovered, fascinated, the technique and illusion of cinema. In the time of the dictatorship, his cine-garage received, clandestinely, friends and curious alike. He filled the screen, a simple white sheet, with «spicy» films, and some «for the ladies». What images are projected on his screen today?
