Portuguese director, producer, photographer, teacher and cultural programmer. Completed the Film Course after attending the Machine Engineering course. He is co-founder of Avanti.pt, Apordoc and Companhia Teatro Meridional, in which he was responsible for the film and audiovisual department.
Between Barcelona, Lyon, Sitges, Budapest, Lisbon and Florence he participated in courses and workshops on cinema, photography, video, theater and creative writing. He had scholership in several institutions – Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, University of Sciences of Lisbon, Pépenières, Visions - Documentary European Course.
Was invited to attend national and international conferences. Was a jury in competitions and festivals of photography, theater, design, dance and cinema, with emphasis on the Cinema and Audiovisual Institute (ICA). He also co-founded Avanti.pt Cinema and Audiovisual Association and Apordoc - Association for the Documentary. He is a member of the Portuguese Association of Filmmakers, artistic co-director of the Vo'Arte Association and a consultant to other associations and artistic and educational projects.
For the last 25 years he has simultaneously dedicated himself to the area of educational work, creating and directing laboratories dedicated to creation and experimentation, both documentary and fictional. He was a guest lecturer at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC), Forum Dança (dance), Piaget Institute, Ana Wilson School, Glasgow Film and Video Workshop (GFVW), Movement Centre (C.E.M.) and ETIC (School of Technology, Creation and Innovation). As well as being a lecturer and project coordinator, he was responsible for the Image and Sound area of vocational and technical education, designing courses and creating educational and artistic projects in an authorial dimension. He was Creative Director of ETIC and is a educational coordinator.
Consultant in the reform of artistic education coordinated by the Ministry of Education.
He is a researcher at CLEPUL - Centre for Lusophone and European Literatures and Cultures and a PhD student in performing arts and moving images at the University of Lisbon (UL).
